non-branded organic traffic, 24 months

The client

OurCrowd is a global venture investing platform, one of the most active startup investing platforms in the world. When I joined to lead their SEO efforts, they had a problem common to many successful companies: zero non-branded organic search presence.

The challenge

Despite being one of the world's leading venture investing platforms, OurCrowd was invisible in Google for the searches that mattered most - people actively looking to invest in emerging technologies like AI, deep learning, biotech, and cleantech.

All their traffic came from brand searches ("OurCrowd") or paid channels. The massive audience searching for "invest in [technology]" was going to competitors or, worse, nowhere useful at all.

The approach

The strategy was straightforward but required significant execution: build the definitive resource for technology investing.

Investment Themes Hub. I created comprehensive pages for every major investment category - AI, biotech, cleantech, fintech, and dozens more. Each page became the authoritative resource for that theme. You can view the Investment Themes hub here.

Learn section. I built an educational content hub covering startup investing fundamentals, due diligence, portfolio strategy, and market analysis. Live at /learn.

Technical SEO foundation. Alongside content, I implemented technical SEO improvements across the site - site architecture, internal linking, crawlability, page speed, and structured data to ensure the content could actually rank.

The results

Over two years, OurCrowd went from virtually no non-branded organic traffic to complete domination on the keywords that matter most for a startup investing platform.

Position 1 rankings. Five hundred plus keywords at the number-one position, including "invest in nanotechnology", "invest in deep learning", "invest in large language models", "invest in generative AI", "invest in biometrics", "invest in radar", "invest in optics", "invest in cleantech", "invest in agtech", "invest in fintech", "invest in 4D technology", "invest in regulation tech", and 488 more.

Position 2 rankings. Three hundred plus keywords, including "invest in telehealth", "invest in cloud technology", "invest in SaaS", "invest in pharmaceuticals", "invest in CRM software", "invest in telecommunications", and 294 more.

Position 3 rankings. Two hundred and fifty plus keywords, including "invest in computer hardware", "invest in aerospace", "invest in 3D printing", "invest in robotics", "invest in social media", and 245 more.

Positions 4 to 6. Four hundred plus keywords, including "invest in biotechnology", "invest in cyber security", "invest in drones", "invest in augmented reality", and 396 more.

Two thousand plus page-one rankings in total. Full ranking spreadsheet here.

Why it worked

The "invest in [technology]" keyword pattern had a unique characteristic: high intent but low competition.

Most competitors were either generic investment platforms (not focused on tech) or content sites (not actual investment platforms). OurCrowd was perfectly positioned to own this space - they just needed the content to match the search intent.

By creating genuinely useful, comprehensive pages for each investment theme - not thin affiliate content, but real resources from an actual investment platform - we gave Google exactly what it wanted to rank: authoritative content from a credible source.

What the client said

Amos took OurCrowd's SEO from virtually no non-branded organic presence to dominating the most highly competitive investment keywords. The results were outstanding and came far quicker than anyone expected. What also stood out was his ability to programmatically integrate AI into our workflows at a time when most people in the industry weren't even thinking about it.
