What I actually do
These are the six areas I work in. They are not separate products with separate teams. They are the parts of the same job, and most engagements pull on several of them at once.
- Technical SEO and performance. Crawlability, indexation, Core Web Vitals, site architecture, log file analysis. The foundation everything else builds on. When this is broken, nothing else matters.
- Content that compounds. Strategy and briefs that target what people are actually searching for, not what you wish they were searching for. Your writers produce. I review before publish.
- Links that last. Earned authority, not rented. No PBNs, no spam, no shortcuts that blow up the next time Google updates a guideline.
- AI search optimisation. ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, AI Overviews. The new front door. I have spent the last two years figuring out what actually works there.
- International SEO. Multi-market expansion done properly. Hreflang, localisation, cross-domain authority, the boring details that decide whether you actually rank in Germany or only think you do.
- E-commerce SEO. Product pages, category architecture, faceted navigation, internal linking at scale. Revenue, not just sessions.
How I work
Every engagement starts with an audit. I learned this the hard way. Early on I would take a client's word for what was wrong, build a strategy around their diagnosis, and three months in discover the actual problem was something nobody had mentioned because nobody knew it existed. Now I look first. Every time.
The audit is $499 and takes five business days. Over a hundred technical checkpoints, competitor gap analysis, content opportunities mapped against your real authority, and a short list of the five to ten things that will move the needle. Then a thirty-minute call to walk through it. No automatic upsell. Many clients take it and hand it to their internal team or their existing vendor. That is a perfectly good outcome.
If the audit reveals something that warrants ongoing work, the retainer is $2,499 a month. Month-to-month, no long contracts. More on how the work runs.
